Baat-Cheat Toolkit

The True Cost of What We Wear
We often assume the apparel industry’s human rights issues are problems of the past, but they persist even today. One such problem is the lack of training for factory supervisors, who are selected for technical skills rather than their ability to lead or empathize. Without soft-skills training, these supervisors, often men, struggle to manage large, diverse teams, leaving workers; especially women, without effective support or avenues to resolve grievances.

Challenge
The toolkit takes a three-pronged approach to building capabilities at different levels. For garment workers, it highlights their value in the supply chain, empowering them at every step. For supervisors, it fosters empathy and soft skills by stepping into workers' shoes. For managers, it cultivates leadership, guiding them to facilitate problem-solving, understand their team personally, and support individual growth.
